Fakhrul Welcomes Operation Devil Hunt

Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said BNP welcomed the joint forces’ special operation ‘Devil Hunt’. He made this statement to journalists at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport upon his return from the USA.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fakhrul Islam, along with standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, visited the USA to attend the National Prayer Breakfast event in Washington D.C. on February 6 and 7. Another member of the BNP delegation, Zaima Rahman, daughter of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, returned to London from the United States.

Mirza Fakhrul urged everyone not to fall into the ‘trap’ of deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He accused Hasina of inciting unrest in the country by collaborating with individuals from India. He attributed the current instability in the country to Hasina’s actions.

He emphasized the importance of caution, stating, “If we want to make our achievements a success, we have to move forward slowly. Darkness cannot be removed with darkness. It has to be removed with light.”

When questioned about BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s health and the possibility of her being moved to the USA for further treatment, Mirza Fakhrul assured that she is currently in good condition. Begum Zia is staying at her son’s residence and receiving treatment under the supervision of physicians from London Clinic.
