Farewell to Election Police in Kathmandu Valley

Kathmandu: The election police personnel mobilized in the Kathmandu Valley for the March 5 election to the House of Representatives are set to receive a farewell on Thursday. Inspector General of the Nepal Police, Dan Bahadur Karki, highlighted the efforts of these officers in ensuring a secure election environment across the valley.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Karki reported that a total of 3,854 election police officers were deployed in Kathmandu, with additional forces comprising 1,093 officers in Bhaktapur and 1,596 in Lalitpur. These security arrangements were made in collaboration with the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and other security bodies to maintain order during the election period.

Karki noted that the police personnel assigned during the election carried out their duties responsibly, contributing to a peaceful atmosphere throughout the voting process.
