Aricha: The ferry movement resumed after a 7.45-hour suspension due to dense fog disruption between the Aricha-Kazirhat river route in the river Jamuna today, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha Ghat sources said. BIWTC Aricha Ghat Manager Md Abdullah reported that ferry movement was halted at 2 am due to poor visibility caused by the dense fog, leaving four ferries anchored at Aricha Ghat and two ferries waiting at Kazirhat.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md Abdullah confirmed that all ferry movements recommenced at 9:45 am once the fog cleared. Similarly, BIWTC Paturia Ghat sources reported a six-hour disruption starting at 3:30 am due to fog, affecting operations at Paturia Ghat.

BIWTC Paturia Ghat Deputy General Manager Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury noted that three ferries were waiting at Puturia Ghat, while others were stranded at Daulatdia Ghat and in the middle of the river Padma. All ferries have resumed normal operations following the dissipation of the fog, he added.
