Washington dc: Finance Minister Rameshwore Prasad Khanal, currently visiting the USA for the annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), addressed the Business Dialogue of the US Chamber of Commerce on Monday. The event, titled ‘From the Himalayas to the Heartland: Strengthening US-Nepal Partnership,’ was organized by the US Chamber of Commerce and aimed at reinforcing the economic ties between the two nations.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the dialogue was attended by Nepal’s Ambassador to the USA, Lok Darshan Regmi, along with other officials from the Embassy of Nepal and members of the US Chamber of Commerce. Minister Khanal’s address focused on the mutual benefits of enhancing economic cooperation and exploring new avenues for partnership.
In addition to his participation in the Business Dialogue, Minister Khanal also held a meeting with the IMF’s Deputy Managing Director Bo Li on Monday. Discussions during this meeting revolved around issues of economic
cooperation, with key figures such as the Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Dr. Bishwanath Paudel, officials from the Nepal Embassy, and representatives from the IMF in attendance.
Minister Khanal’s visit to Washington DC began on Sunday, marking his participation in the significant annual gatherings of the World Bank Group and the IMF, which attract global financial leaders and policymakers.
