Fire Engulfs Nine Shops in Sayed Ahmed Tek


Khankhanabad: A total of nine shops were engulfed by a fire that erupted in the Sayed Ahmed Tek area of Khankhanabad Union within the Banshkhali upazila early Sunday morning. The incident caused significant property damage but no human casualties were reported.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the fire began around 1 am, originating from a shop and rapidly spreading to adjacent areas. Md. Mizanur Rahman, an officer at the Banshkhali Fire Service and Civil Defence Station, stated that the fire was sparked by an electrical short circuit.



Two firefighting units from the Banshkhali Fire Station, upon receiving information, promptly arrived at the scene. With the assistance of local residents, they managed to extinguish the blaze by approximately 2:30 am. The local fire service official estimated the damage to be around Taka 25 lakh, based on accounts from the affected shop owners.
