Fire in Martadi Destroys Millions of Properties


Martadi: A massive fire occurred earlier today in Martadi, the district headquarters of Bajura. Properties worth millions were gutted in the fire, police confirmed.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Police Inspector of District Police Office Bajura, Laxmiraj Joshi, stated that the fire happened after a short circuit in a furniture shop owned by one Prakash Thapa. The incident took place while workers were present in the shop, leading to the outbreak of the fire.



The fire spread rapidly, gutting a furniture factory, an auto garage, and other goods in the Jiula area of Badimalika-8 in Martadi. The fire has now been brought under control with the assistance of police personnel and local residents, as confirmed by Police Inspector Joshi.



Details of the loss are awaited, it is said.
