Kavre: The Nepal Police arrested five people for their alleged involvement in looting, vandalism, and arson in Kavre district during the Gen-Z protests of September 9.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the District Police Office in Kavre reported that the accused were involved in damaging and looting public properties, government offices, and police buildings. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and Information Officer of District Police Office Rabin Bista identified the individuals as Ajay Tamang, 21, of Dhulikhel Municipality-3, Bishal Blon, 21, of Khanikhola Rural Municipality-1, Rabindra Pariyar, 22, and Abhi Sudhakar, 19, of Banepa Municipality.
Bista also stated that Bhim Tamang, 27, of Jiri Municipality-1 in Dolakha district was apprehended on similar charges. Previously, the district police had arrested 12 individuals for alleged involvement in similar activities during the Gen-Z protests in Kavre.
