Kathmandu: The National Kickboxing Association Nepal has selected five players to participate in the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) Kickboxing World Cup.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the selection comprised four male and one female player who were chosen from the selection tournament held at Dasharath Stadium on Monday. The selected male players include Asik Koli of Sudurpaschim Province in the 57 kg category, Sagar Darji of Bagmati Province in the 67 kg category, Sunim Shrestha of Bagmati in the 69 kg category, and Koshish Shrestha of Bagmati in the 71 kg category.
In the women’s category, Sanju Sumba Tamang of Bagmati will compete in the under-51 kg category. The closed training for the selected players has commenced. The 1st WAKO World Cup is scheduled to take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from April 7-12, 2025.
