Dharan: Four dead bodies have been recovered from the Bhatbhateni supermarket of Dharan, which was set on fire by protestors. Spokesperson of the District Police Office in Sunsari, Yograj Khatiwada, informed that the four bodies might have been of the looters who entered the superstore during the GenZ protest last Tuesday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, once the superstore was set on fire, those inside might have been trapped within the building. Three of these bodies were found on the fourth floor, while one was discovered on the second floor, as reported by the police.
“It is difficult to identify the torched bodies, so only DNA could be a solution,” Khatiwada stated, mentioning that the corpses have been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for further action. As the GenZ protest intensified, an anarchic group reportedly sprinkled petrol on the store and ignited it at 7:00 pm. The blaze was eventually extinguished the following morning.
