Giri Honoured with Best Journalism of the Year Award


Jhapa: This year’s Chiranjivi-Ishwaradevi Best Journalism Award has been presented to Ekraj Giri, editor-in-chief of Purvanchal Dainik. Also serving as the President of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Jhapa chapter, Giri was honoured with this prestigious award, which includes a prize money of Rs 51,000.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the award ceremony also recognized excellence in other fields. Dilliram Acharya from Kankai Secondary School was named the best student, Bhakta Bahadur Tamang from Kankai-7 was honoured as the best farmer, and Shobha Dahal Poudel from Kankai-7 received the award for the best daughter-in-law. Each of these recipients also received prize money of Rs 51,000.



The Bhawani-Himadevi Drinking Water and Sanitation Consumer Community group, Durgapur, distributed the awards during its 8th annual general meeting. This organization has been recognizing outstanding talents in four different disciplines since 2079 BS, supported by a revolving fund of Rs. 3 million.
