A girl died and two others were injured after they accidentally touched a bare electric wire on the street at Gaushala-3 in the district on Friday.
Police have identified the deceased as Karina Mahato, 12, of Pachaintole and the injured ones as Radha Mahato, 18, and Bibha Mahato, 14, of the same locality.
The girl was on the way to a paddy field to harvest the crops Friday morning when the incident happened, according to the Area Police Office, Gaushala. However, two others were injured while trying to rescue the girl, Police Inspector Surya Bahadur Rana Magar said.
It is said the bare electric wire was placed on the street by a local Binod Mehata to deter wildlife from entering his farm and he forgot to switch it off in the morning. He has been on the run since the incident.
The lifeless body of the victim has been sent to the Bardibas Hospital for a post-moterm while the injured ones are being treated at the Gaushala-based Clinic. They are out of the life threatening condition.
