Lalitpur: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel has announced the government’s firm commitment to ensuring the success of the House of Representatives elections scheduled for March 5, 2026.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Kharel conveyed this commitment during a Chhath Pooja programme at Bojepokhari in Imadol. He emphasized that the government would take comprehensive measures to conduct the upcoming polls effectively, tackle corruption, and enhance governance across the nation. Minister Kharel also mentioned the government’s intention to advance actions following investigations into damages and loss of lives during the Gen-Z protests.
During the event, Minister Kharel highlighted the significance of the Chhath festival, describing it as an emblem of national pride and humility for all Nepalis. He remarked on the festival’s symbolic representation of purity and extended his wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to the people of Nepal.
Minister Kharel actively participated in the Chhath celebrations by performing Pooja to Chhati Mata at the Bojepokhari pond. He was welcomed by Deputy Mayor of Mahalaxmi Municipality Laxmi Maharjan, representatives from the Chhath Pooja Management Society, and local residents who gathered at the venue.
