Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the government is making all necessary efforts for the safe and speedy release of Bipin Joshi, a Nepali student in Israel taken hostage by the extremist Hamas group.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Prime Minister shared in a Facebook post that the government is actively working towards Bipin’s release, emphasizing that it is the government’s responsibility. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is engaging in ongoing discussions through Nepal’s diplomatic missions in the Gulf countries to ensure Bipin’s safe and quick release.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that the government stands in solidarity with Bipin’s family. Through coordination with the embassy in Israel, Bipin’s mother, Padma, and sister, Pushpa, met with Israel’s President Isaac Herzog and the Chairman of the Israeli Parliament, Amir Ohana, as part of the efforts to secure Bipin’s release.
Furthermore, PM Oli recalled his telephone conversations from a couple of months ago with the presidents of Trkiye and Egypt concerning Bipin’s release. He expressed gratitude towards Nepalis, local residents, journalists, security forces, and social activists for their efforts in securing Bipin Joshi’s safe and speedy release.
