Govt Prioritizes Human-Wildlife Conflict Resolution: Minister Shahi.


Dhangadhi: Minister for Forest and Environment, Ain Bahadur Shahi, announced that the government is taking significant steps to reduce human-wildlife conflicts while advancing forest and biodiversity conservation efforts. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Nepal Press Union in Kailali, Minister Shahi emphasized that the Ministry has prioritized wildlife conservation and the mitigation of human-wildlife conflicts.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Shahi revealed that the Ministry is implementing a phased plan to conserve forests, biodiversity, and environment while addressing climate change impacts. He highlighted that a program was recently organized at Shuklaphanta National Park in Kanchanpur to gather essential information on these matters. Furthermore, a commission has been established to address the challenges, aiming to reduce losses and rehabilitate displaced individuals.

The Minister also mentioned ongoing initiatives to link forests and tourism, as well as national parks
with tourism activities, indicating that conservation areas remain a significant attraction for tourists. Additionally, Minister Shahi shared the government’s plan to develop Badimalika in Bajura as a conservation area, further underscoring the commitment to preserving Nepal’s natural heritage.
