Govt’s Responsibility is to Maintain Good Governance, Hold Polls, Home Minister Reiterates


Bhairahawa: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has stated that the government’s first priority is to successfully conduct elections and establish a robust foundation for good governance. He made these remarks while addressing the Lumbini Province-level Security Seminar held in Bhairahawa.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Home Minister Aryal emphasized that the government is actively focusing on activities related to elections and good governance. He urged the provincial government to prepare and implement its security plan in alignment with the election security plan approved by the Central Security Committee. Aryal also noted the security challenges posed by political parties concerning looted arms and absconded prisoners, mentioning that a significant number of weapons have been recovered through special operations and many prisoners have returned to custody.



Similarly, Chief Minister of Lumbini Province, Chet Narayan Acharya, underlined the importance of boosting the morale of security personnel and civil servants. He stated that the Lumbini province government is progressing by developing a strategic plan to maintain good governance.



The seminar was a joint effort by the Federal Home Ministry and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of the Lumbini province government.
