Hetauda: The Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City has enacted a comprehensive ban on the production, sale, and distribution of plastic bouquets, flowers, and garlands. This initiative aims to boost the local production of natural flowers and promote environmentally friendly practices.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the sub-metropolitan city announced its decision through a formal notice, emphasizing the importance of supporting the local flower market. The notice included a warning that individuals or businesses found violating the ban would face legal consequences. Bharat Gautam, the Chief Administrative Officer of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, highlighted the community’s duty to embrace and utilize natural flowers, pointing out both the environmental and economic benefits associated with their use.
In related news, 113 fugitives who had escaped from the Regional Prison in Bhimphedi during the Gen-Z protests have voluntarily returned. Subas Paudel, Chief of Bhimphedi Prison, confirmed the return of these inmates. The prison administration reported that a total of 325 inmates have now returned to various jails, including Bhimphedi Prison, as of this morning.
