Kathmandu: The Home Ministry has directed all district administration offices (DAOs) to maintain an effective and smooth peace and security situation with crime control, good governance, flawless service delivery, and hassle-free supply management. The Ministry instructed Chief District Officers to fulfill their duties by winning public trust, emphasizing the importance of effective law enforcement.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the secretary-level decisions at the Ministry focused on analyzing immediate and long-term threats to security in the wake of Gen-Z protests and unfolding developments. The Ministry highlighted the need for collaboration in information collection, assessment, and action. The government has urged all parties to avoid provoking the masses and to conduct programs, rallies, and meetings peacefully as preparations begin for the March 5 election.

Government agencies will work in coordination to recover weapons seized during the Gen-Z protests from security personnel and police offices. Efforts will be made to boost the morale of public servants and security personnel through discussions and motivational programs. The government aims to end impunity to build public trust in local administration and security agencies, and security offices are encouraged to collaborate with the community.

A daily reporting system will be implemented to address issues of peace, security, and disaster management. Chief District Officers are required to inform the Home Ministry immediately about events or information that could have adverse national or international impacts, including crimes and peace and security issues.

Continued vigilance is essential for border security, the protection of border pillars, and the prevention of cross-border crimes. Both single and joint patrols are encouraged to enhance border security measures.
