Kathmandu: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, has pledged to mobilise the required human resources to promptly restore highways disrupted by rains.
In his replies to concerns raised by lawmakers during the HoR session today, the Minister said this. He said he took concerns from lawmakers regarding the issues of physical infrastructure and transport positively.
He said the Ministry is facing some difficulties in undertaking the related development endeavors due to rains. He added that except in case of Nagdhunga, other national highways were restored within two hours of the obstruction.
Lawmakers mainly raised concerns over the collapse of an under-construction bridge over the Kamala River on the southern border of Dhanusha and Siraha along the Postal Highway.
In response, he said the bridge repair has been delayed due to disputes between the contractor and constriction company.
He said the aims to implement all the constructions relating to physical infrastructure develop
ment by the next two months. “The rains have caused some delay and hindrances to development projects. All the development contracts will be implemented by mid-October.”
