Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has underlined the need of further expanding and strengthening air services In his replies to queries from lawmakers in a House of Representatives (HoR) meeting today, the Prime Minister stated that the government is working to make the country’s air services prompt and reliable.
According to National News Agency Nepal, efforts are underway to improve the efficiency in the management of the national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation. The Prime Minister noted that the restructuring of the Nepal Tourism Board has been completed, and Nepali embassies, diplomatic missions, tourism ambassadors, the Non-Resident Nepali Association, Nepali students abroad, and various organizations at home and abroad have been mobilized to promote the tourism sector.
Promotional initiatives by the Nepal Tourism Board and other organizations are being undertaken to encourage tourist arrivals from neighboring countries. The Federal Parliament is preparing to present the Bill to revise and integrate tourism-related existing laws in the current session. “The Mountaineering Expedition Regulation has been revised,” the Prime Minister noted.
In response to another query, the Prime Minister mentioned that the Sunsari Morang Irrigation Project has constructed a side intake near Chatarra of Koshi River and provided irrigation facilities.
Addressing a query from Manish Jha, the Prime Minister stated that the incumbent government has dismantled ‘wrong’ practices in the transfer, promotion, and appointment of official posts, with the recent appointment of the Nepal Police Chief being a testament to these efforts.
He further added that the construction of the Butwal-Narayangadh road section has resumed and accelerated. The government has received internal and external debt to implement projects in productive and development sectors.
The government has revised the Act through an ordinance to promote an atmosphere conducive for industrial and enterprise development, according to the Prime Minister.
