House of Representatives Passes National Forensic Science Laboratory Bill


Khatmandu:The House of Representatives has unanimously passed the ‘National Forensic Science Laboratory (Establishment and Operation) Bill, 2083 BS’.



According to National News Agency RSS, the proposal for the bill’s passage was presented by Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Mahabir Pun. The bill aims to improve the speed and effectiveness of DNA testing and to expand forensic services to the provincial level. It includes provisions to ensure data is not released without authorization.



The bill originated in the National Assembly and was discussed by several Members of Parliament, including Shobha Khanal, Basumaya Tamang, Manju Bhusal, and others, who shared their views on the proposal.



The next meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled for 11:00 am on the following day.
