ICSB and DU Department of Management Forge Strategic Partnership


Dhaka: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) and the Department of Management, University of Dhaka (DU), at Dr. Abdullah Farouk Multipurpose Hall of Faculty of Business Studies today. M Nurul Alam, Senior Vice President and Acting President of ICSB, and Professor Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam, Chairman of the Department of Management at DU, signed the MoU aimed at strategic partnership and mutual benefits.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the MoU facilitates enhanced academic and professional achievements, sharing of knowledge and latest information, research endeavors, curriculum improvements, and organizing events and training programs. It focuses on comprehensive development for both organizations under specified terms and conditions. The event commenced with a Career Session titled ‘Unlocking Your Potential with ICSB: A Journey to Professional Excellence,’ with Ali Akkas, Professor at DU’s Department of Management, serving as the chief guest.



M Nurul Alam and Professor Dr. Mohammad Thoufiqul Islam attended as Special Guests, while A. K. M. Mushfiqur Rahman, Vice President of ICSB, and Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Treasurer of ICSB, graced the occasion as guests of honor. Abul Fazal Mohamed Rubayat, Chairman of the Education Committee of ICSB, delivered a keynote presentation.



The chief guest emphasized the potential of the Chartered Secretary profession in both national and global contexts, encouraging aspiring graduates to pursue CS professional qualifications for enhanced career prospects. M Nurul Alam highlighted the role of Gen-Z youth in national economic growth, while Prof. Dr. Islam discussed the impact of professional qualifications on career paths.



A. K. M. Mushfiqur Rahman stressed the importance of the Chartered Secretary profession, and Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun envisioned a future Bangladesh with strong governance in all sectors, including the corporate domain. A large number of students participated in the program, engaging in an interactive quiz session with prizes awarded to the winners.



Other dignitaries from ICSB, including Oli Kamal, Mohammed Harun-Ar-Rashid, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Bhuiyan, A.B.M. Kalim Ullah, Muhammad Rony Islam, Md. Ali Gowhar, Md. Shahid Uddin, Md Zakir Hossain, Kazi Andaleeb Amin, and Mehedee Hasan, were present. Faculty members from DU’s Department of Management, including Mohammad Abdul Jabber and Ms. Tahmina Khanam, also attended the program.
