Expatriate’s Welfare and Overseas Employment
Minister Imran Ahmad today said currently, the necessity and importance of
skilled workers have increased across the globe.
“There is no market for unskilled workers in the present world. The utility
and value of skilled labor increased in world,” he said.
The minister said this while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the
newly constructed TTC building at Raninagar sadar upazila of the district as
the chief guest.
From that realization of increased demand of the workers across the globe,
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the initiative to establish Technical
Training Centres (TTC) in upazilas across the country with the aim of
creating employment and foreign exchange earnings through the development of
the skills of the individual, he said.
Noting that the government has also taken initiatives to send skilled farmers
to different countries of the world, he said certificates of their skills
must be required in this regard.
The Prime Minister always says that skilled workers should be sent abroad, he
said, adding that these training centers are being constructed according to
her instructions.
“The government has a plan to establish training for people’s skill
development in each upazila step by step,” he added.
He said that these training centers should be taken to such a condition so
that it is possible to send them abroad after getting trainings from those
institutions.
The minister also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had announced
Digital Bangladesh in 2008.
Now the people of Bangladesh are reaping the benefits, he said.
Mentioning that Prime Minister is currently has the desire of building a
Smart Bangladesh, the minister sought everyone’s cooperation in building a
‘Smart Bangladesh’ by 2040.
With Director General of Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET)
Shahidul Alam in the chair, the ceremony was attended, among others, by
Member of Parliament from Naogaon-6 Constituency Anwar Hossain Helal, Project
Director Deputy Secretary Saiful Haque Chowdhury, Additional Deputy
Commissioner (Education) Md Zakir Hossain and Additional Deputy Commissioner
Md Gaziur Rahman as special guests.
