Salyan: Minister for Social Development in Karnali Province, Ghanashyam Bhandari, has emphasized the province government’s commitment to developing infrastructures aimed at enhancing health and educational services at the local level. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to curb the rising trend of out-migration from rural areas.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Bhandari made these remarks while inaugurating a 15-bed municipal hospital at Devsthal in Bangad Kupinde municipality-1, Salyan district. He highlighted the necessity of building robust infrastructures in rural regions to improve health and education access. The Minister also noted the deployment of medical officers across local areas to support this initiative.
All local levels in Salyan and Rukum Paschim districts have been staffed with medical officers, with the sole exception of Darma rural municipality in Salyan. On another note, Minister Bhandari called on local representatives to ensure public accountability and facilitate efficient service delivery.
Karnali Province Assembly member and former Minister Bhim Prakash Sharma expressed his gratitude to the Province government for its role in deploying medical officers at the local level. He also pledged his support for further hospital upgrades. Meanwhile, Mayor Karna Bahadur Budhathoki shared his satisfaction with the establishment of the 15-bed hospital, which he believes will alleviate many challenges faced by the local community.
