Injured Tourist Rescued from Manaslu Area After Three-Day Delay

Chumanubri: A tourist, who sustained serious injuries after being hit by a falling rock from a cliff while trekking in the Manaslu area, has been airlifted today. Minuindra Lamsal from Jhapa was injured when a stone hit his head while returning from Samagaun, Chumanubri Rural Municipality-1 on Thursday, and was rescued after three days.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Lamsal, who had sustained a serious head injury, was receiving first aid at Bihi Health Post. Manoj Lamichhane, the Chief Administrative Officer of Chumanubri Rural Municipality, stated that the rescue was delayed because the helicopter could not be flown to the site due to adverse weather conditions.

Lamichhane said that Lamsal was rescued this afternoon by a Simrik Air’s helicopter and sent to Kathmandu. The 44-year-old Lamsal was seriously injured when a rock that fell from a cliff hit his head near a landslide in Chumnubri-4, Bur on Thursday morning, while returning from Samagaun.

Chief Administrative Officer Lamichhane informed that both Bishal Lamsal and Dipendra Neupane, who were with Minuindra, are safe.
