Pokhara: Minister of Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has emphasized that the development and use of information technology is the priority of the current government. Speaking at a program on ‘Information on E-Signatures’ organized by the Office of the Certification Controller, he highlighted the government’s commitment to streamlining public service delivery through the use of information technology.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Gurung stated that alongside systemic changes, there is a need for a change in the working style. He noted the significant contribution of the information technology sector to the development of developed countries and expressed confidence in Nepal’s potential in this field, citing its open society and democratic system as conducive factors.
Minister of Health of Gandaki Province, Krishna Prasad Pathak, also attended the event and remarked on the ministry’s efforts towards e-governance. He emphasized the necessity of cooperation wi
th the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to achieve these objectives.
