Karnali: A cabinet meeting of the Karnali province government has decided to provide a martyr memorial and living allowance totaling Rs 50 million. The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Yam Lal Kandel, approved the allocation of Rs 25.57 million for the martyr memorial allowance and Rs 22.98 million for the living allowance.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the cabinet also granted permission for the authority to distribute the budget to local levels through the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Planning, in line with the Karnali Province Allocation Act, 2082. This information was shared by the Spokesperson for the Karnali government and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture, and Cooperative, Binod Kumar Shah.
In addition, the meeting approved several procedural amendments. These include the Project Proposal and Selection Process (Second Amendment) Procedure, 2082, Karnali Province Supplementary Grant (First Amendment) Procedure, 2082, Karnali Province Special Grant (First Amendment) Procedure, 2082, Karnali Province Conditional Grant (First Amendment) Procedure, 2082, and the Incidents Management and Dispatch Guideline for Victims of Gender-based Violence, 2082, as stated by Shah.
