Law Ministry to Examine Technicalities of Lawmaking

Kathmandu: The first decisions of the new ministers in the Gen-Z backed government have been observed keenly to see whether they digress from the traditional routine of minister’s first day with office assumption. In this regard, the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has decided to study the technicalities of the lawmaking process, including language and style.

According to National News Agency Nepal, the newly appointed Minister Anil Kumar Sinha assumed office in Singh Durbar on Tuesday and approved the ministry’s decision in this regard. He was received by Ministry Secretary Parashwor Dhungana. “Good governance, a corruption-free society, and employment within the country are the government’s priorities, which are also the demands of Gen-Z,” stated Law Minister Sinha.

Sinha emphasized that the first priority is holding elections, as the government was formed with the mandate to conduct elections within six months. He assured that there would be no compromise on this matter. To facilitate timely elections, some amendments would be forwarded for ordinance.

In a brief interaction with media persons after assuming office on Tuesday, Sinha mentioned that the decision on forming a commission for the study and investigation of corruption would be taken after adequate discussion. He also highlighted the challenges faced by the court and expressed his support for the efforts to restore normalcy by gradually collecting legal and case documents.
