Kathmandu: Veteran literary figure Prof Subarna Shakya was felicitated amid a function in the capital city in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Nepal Bhasa. He was honored on Sunday at a programme organized by Nepal Sambat National Protection Society and Nepal Sambat Nhudaha National Celebration Committee-1145.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Prof Shakya served as the first chair of the Nepal Sambat Nhudaha National Celebration Committee. Born at Ombahal in Kathmandu in 1993, Shakya holds multiple identities, including former headmaster of Durbar High School.
On the occasion, the hymns and religious songs written by Buddhist scholar Prof Shakya were recited. During the felicitation programme, litterateur and activist Malla K Sundar remarked that Prof Shakya is a multidimensional personality.
