Maintaining Good Governance First Priority: Communications Minister Gurung


Pokhara: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Prithvi Subba Gurung has stated that the government’s primary focus is on ensuring effective public service delivery and promoting good governance. Speaking at the inauguration of the Third National Conference of Lions International District 325 on Saturday, Minister Gurung highlighted the government’s commitment to improving governance through recent legislative measures.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Gurung, who also serves as the government spokesperson, revealed that six ordinances were recently introduced to enhance public service delivery and promote good governance. He further disclosed that the government is in the process of amending 12 different laws to ensure prompt and effective public service delivery.



Minister Gurung emphasized that Nepal has transitioned to a democratic system, marking an end to a 240-year-long feudalistic era. In the current context, he noted, sovereign people hold the regime power. However, he acknowledged the need for further reforms in the political system to strengthen governance.



During the event, Minister Gurung also commended the Lions Club for its significant contributions to the social service sector in Nepal.
