Maoist Centre Coordinator Emphasizes Importance of Strengthening Democracy


Kathmandu: Coordinator of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has asserted the necessity of advancing by reinforcing democracy and building on significant milestones such as the federal democratic republic, secularism, and the proportional system. He conveyed these sentiments in a message of best wishes delivered on the occasion of Nepal Sambat New Year 1146, extending heartfelt wishes for happiness, peace, and prosperity to all Nepalis both domestically and internationally.



According to National News Agency Nepal, Coordinator Dahal emphasized that the nation stands at a pivotal juncture, necessitating reunification and progression along a progressive path. He remarked that the intricate challenges presently faced cannot be tackled without the progressive enhancement of democracy.



Highlighting the Nepal Sambat calendar as a representation of historical pride, cultural identity, and national unity among Nepalis, Dahal described it as the original calendar of Nepalis. He urged all to take pride in this calendar, which is a shared heritage of all castes and communities, unique to the entire nation.



Dahal further stressed the urgent need for national unity among political forces advocating change. He stated that the best wishes for Nepal Sambat 1146 would be a collective commitment to advancing towards prosperity through the full implementation of the constitution, engaging in serious self-reflection, and ensuring social justice.
