Udayapur: The CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Bharat Ghimire has been elected as the ward chair at ward no 9 in Belaka municipality, Udayapur. Ghimire secured a total of 559 votes, outpacing his closest competitor, Mohan Khadka from CPN UML, who garnered 525 votes.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Nabaraj Basnet of the Nepali Congress received 404 votes, as reported by Suresh Pokharel, the information officer at the office election officer. The election witnessed a voter turnout of 1,887 from a list of 3,147 registered voters.
Additionally, the Maoist Centre’s Nawin Bantawa Rai has been elected as the chair of ward no 12 at Triyuga municipality. Previously, both of these wards were led by the Nepali Congress.
