Mild Cold Wave Sweeps Over Dinajpur and Panchagarh, May Expand Further

Dhaka: A mild cold wave is currently affecting the districts of Dinajpur and Panchagarh, with the possibility of spreading to other parts of the country, as forecasted by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department today. The cold wave is accompanied by moderate to thick fog, which may occur from midnight to morning, potentially persisting until noon in some areas. This fog could temporarily disrupt air navigation, island river transport, and road communications.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Met office release indicated that the weather is expected to remain dry with a temporarily partly cloudy sky across the country. There could be a decrease in night temperatures by 1-2 degrees Celsius, while day temperatures are likely to stay nearly the same. The ridge of a sub-continental high is extending up to Bihar and its adjoining areas, while a seasonal low lies over the South Bay, extending its trough to the North Bay.

The lowest temperature recorded yesterday was 9.2 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur, Rangpur Division, and today’s highest temperature was 31.2 degrees Celsius in Teknaf, Chattogram Division. The sun is set to set at 5:40 pm today and rise at 6:42 am tomorrow in the capital.
