Surkhet:Preparations for the 10th National Games, set to be held in Karnali Province, were the main topic of discussion in a meeting between Minister for Education and Sports Sasmit Pokharel and provincial officials on Sunday.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Pokharel engaged in talks with Chief Minister Mangal Bahadur Shahi and Minister for Social Development Jeet Bahadur Malla, focusing on sports infrastructure, event management, and coordination between the federal and provincial governments.
Minister Pokharel highlighted that the ministry is collaborating with stakeholders to ensure the Games occur as planned. He pledged full federal support for the enhancement and management of sports facilities in Karnali Province. Chief Minister Shahi and Minister Malla reiterated the provincial government’s dedication to the event’s success and informed Minister Pokharel that preparations are nearing completion.
Currently, Minister Pokharel is in the Surkhet district to evaluate preparations, inspect sports infrastructure, and coordinate with stakeholders ahead of the multi-sport event. The 10th National Games are scheduled to take place in Karnali Province from December 2 to 13 later this year.
