Monarchy’s Legitimacy and Relevance Have Ended, Says Former Prime Minister


Biratnagar: Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has stated that the monarchy in the country has already lost its legitimacy and relevance. Speaking to media personnel at Biratnagar Airport, he asserted that there is no possibility of restoring the monarchy since it has already lost its standing. He emphasized that people should stop imagining the monarchy’s return.



According to National News Agency Nepal, the former Prime Minister clarified that the federal democratic republic was established in the country through consensus with former king Gyanendra. On another matter, Chair Nepal expressed the need to amend the constitution to address the challenges faced by the nation.



Furthermore, he dismissed the chances of reuniting with CPN (UML) in the foreseeable future.
