NA Session Underway as Lawmakers Address Pressing Governmental Issues


Kathmandu: A session of the National Assembly is underway.



According to National News Agency Nepal, in today’s meeting, ministers from various ministries are scheduled to respond to concerns raised during the deliberations on the Appropriation Bill- 2083 BS. During the zero hour of the session, upper house members highlighted several critical issues requiring the government’s attention, including the implementation of resolutions with the Dalit community, road safety, inflation control, gender equality, women’s self-empowerment, and the strict enforcement of traffic rules.



Padam Bahadur Pariyar expressed his concern over the ‘non-implementation’ of the government’s announcement to apologize to the Dalit community for the long-standing systemic exclusion. He emphasized the need to implement reform programs for this marginalized community. Rukmini Koirala urged the government to implement effective policies and programs to bridge the existing gender gap and eliminate gender-based discrimination and labor exploitation. Meanwhile, Renu Chand raised concerns about the increasing number of road accidents, urging the government to prioritize road safety initiatives.
