Kathmandu: The Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has acknowledged that its attention has been drawn to reports in media about the cancellation of its Kathmandu-Guangzhou flight originally scheduled for October 19, citing insufficient passenger numbers.
According to National News Agency Nepal, NAC spokesperson Subas Dangi clarified in a statement that the cancellation of the October 19 flight was due to internal reasons. Dangi also mentioned that arrangements have been made to accommodate passengers who were affected by this cancellation.
The source reports that the national flag-carrier has sold 68 tickets for the October 16 flight in the Kathmandu-Guangzhou-Kathmandu sector, while 41 passengers have booked the return flight on October 17 from Guangzhou to Kathmandu. Additionally, 93 tickets have been sold for the October 23 Kathmandu-Guangzhou flight, with 20 tickets for the return flight on October 24.
The Kathmandu-Guangzhou route is a newly launched international destination for NAC and is still in the process of being fully promoted.
