Kathmandu: The Election Commission (EC) has made public the schedule of the election to the National Assembly members announced for coming 24 January 2026.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the election schedule approved by the Commission details several key dates. The voter list will be published on January 3 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. This will be followed by the scrutiny of claims, objections, and complaints regarding the voter list, with the final publication of the list set for 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on January 6.
The Commission’s spokesperson, Narayan Prasad Bhattarai, outlined the subsequent steps in the schedule. Nomination of candidates will occur from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on January 7. Objections to candidates can be filed from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on January 8. Candidates have the opportunity to withdraw their names from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on January 11, with the final publication of candidates’ names from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on the same day.
Election symbols will be distributed to candidates from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on January 12. The Commission has confirmed that the election for the 18 members of the National Assembly will take place on January 24 at the relevant polling stations from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
