Bagerhat: The National Gold Cup football tournament (U-17 boys’ and girls’) commenced today at Bagerhat stadium, marking the Festival of Youth. The event aims to contribute to the development of a new Bangladesh. Bagerhat deputy commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan inaugurated the tournament as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the opening ceremony featured speeches from several notable figures, including the convener of the anti-discrimination movement SM Saddam, president of Jamaat-e-Islami youth division Manjurul Haque Rahad, Khulna divisional physical education college principal Rubel Khan, additional deputy commissioner Nezarat Tariq Rahman, district sports officer Hussain Ahmed, and other district-level officials.
Deputy commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Hasan highlighted that eighteen standout players from the tournament would have the opportunity to receive special training in Brazil and Portugal. He encouraged the players not to miss this valuable opportunity.
