Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Prakash Man Singh has confirmed that the party will participate in the election scheduled for March 5, 2026, dismissing the need for a special general convention at present. Speaking at an event held at Shobha Bhagawati to commemorate the 111th birth anniversary of the late NC leader Ganesh Man Singh, he emphasized the party’s commitment to democratic norms and systems.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Singh highlighted that the party’s main focus is to engage with the electorate and earn their trust through the electoral process to address the country’s current crisis. He addressed recent internal calls for a special general convention, noting that the party’s regular convention is imminent and that efforts are underway to prepare internally.
Singh also mentioned the importance of addressing the demands of the Gen Z movement, stressing the incorporation of the new generation’s ideas and aspirations into the party’s structure. The event saw the participation of NC leaders, cadres, and local residents who gathered to pay homage to the veteran leader by garlanding his statue.
