Kathmandu: Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has paid his last tribute to Mohan Gyawali, the former President of the Nepal Teachers’ Association, who passed away recently.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Gyawali, who led the Nepal Teachers’ Association for two terms, died at the age of 59 following a heart attack on Friday night. His body was laid in state at the Association’s central office in Dhumbarahi, where mourners gathered to pay their respects.
In addition to Deuba, other prominent figures such as NC Vice President Dhanraj Gurung, General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharma, Tourism Minister Badri Prasad Pandey, and central leaders Dr. Shashank Koirala and Arjun Narsingh KC also visited the Association’s office to honor the late Gyawali.
Gyawali was cremated at Pashupati Aryaghat later in the evening, marking the end of a distinguished career in education and public service.
