Kathmandu:Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has conveyed his heartfelt wishes on the occasion of Bijaya Dashami, emphasizing the importance of harmony and solidarity in society during the festival.
According to National News Agency RSS, Thapa expressed his hope that the festival of Dashain will reinforce the spirit of togetherness among Nepalis. In his message, he encouraged everyone to cultivate inner strength to overcome personal shortcomings and to develop compassion for understanding others’ suffering, thereby fostering a stronger sense of social harmony.
Thapa highlighted that this year’s Dashain is occurring amidst a national disaster, with many families experiencing grief and hardship. He urged that the joy of the festival should not be limited to individual homes and courtyards but should extend to bringing comfort to families in distress. He advocated for sharing happiness and supporting one another during these challenging times.
The festival’s essence, Thapa reiterated, should transcend personal celebrations and include acts of compassion and mutual support for those facing difficulties. Today marks the 10th day of the Bada Dasain festival, known as Bijaya Dashami, celebrated nationwide with great enthusiasm by receiving ‘tika’ and blessings from elders.
