Kathmandu: Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has emphasized the historic and cooperative nature of Nepal-India relations, calling for further strengthening of these ties. She made these remarks during a program organized by the Indian Embassy in Nepal to mark India’s 79th Independence Day. Dr Rana highlighted the longstanding friendship between the two nations and noted the various dimensions of their relationship.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Dr Rana commended India’s significant economic progress and expressed optimism that Nepal and India would continue to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, technology, infrastructure, and public aspirations. She emphasized that the relationship between Nepal and India extends beyond geographical proximity, being deeply rooted in ancient knowledge, shared culture, and strong people-to-people connections.
Dr Rana further noted that collaboration between the two countries is crucial for addressing shared challenges such as climate change and achieving sustainable development. Earlier in the day, she conveyed her congratulations to the Indian government and its citizens through her Indian counterpart, S Jaishankar, on the occasion of India’s Independence Day.
