Kathmandu: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products, effective from midnight tonight. The state-owned corporation has implemented a hike in petrol prices, categorizing them into three distinct pricing zones across the country.
According to National News Agency Nepal, petrol prices have been raised by Rs 1 per liter. In the first category, which includes areas such as Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj, the new petrol price is set at Rs 157.50 per liter. The second category, comprising Surkhet and Dang, will see petrol prices fixed at Rs 159 per liter. Meanwhile, the third category, which includes Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal, will have petrol priced at Rs 160 per liter.
Additionally, the NOC has increased the price of aviation fuel by US$ 15 per kiloliter on the international front. Domestically, the price of aviation fuel has risen by Rs 2 per liter. Although there is an increase of Rs 14.49 per cyl
inder in the price of cooking LP gas, the corporation has decided to keep this price unchanged for now, citing consumer interests.
