Nepal Urged to Maximize Gains from Prime Minister’s China Visit, Says Dr. Wagle.

DAMAULI: Vice-President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Dr. Swarnim Wagle, has emphasized the importance for Nepal to reap maximum benefits from Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s upcoming visit to China. The Prime Minister is scheduled to visit China from December 2-5, following an invitation from Chinese Premier Li Qiang.

According to National News Agency Nepal, Dr. Wagle, while addressing RSP party cadres in Damauli on Saturday, highlighted the necessity for Nepal to leverage opportunities from its relationships with China, India, and other multilateral agencies. He pointed out the significant infrastructure gap in Nepal and advocated for the acceptance of financial assistance, whether in the form of grants or loans, from international donors.

Dr. Wagle further elaborated that accepting loans with a low-interest rate, such as one percent, would be beneficial for Nepal, especially if the repayment period extends to 30 or 40 years. He criticized certain political parties for their immature stance against ac
cepting loans from China, urging a more balanced and mature approach to foreign relations and economic strategies for Nepal’s development.
