Humla: The Nepali Congress has finalized its candidate for the post of Vice Chair of Sarkegad Rural Municipality of Humla for the by-elections scheduled for December 1. Sabita Budha from Rahadev in ward no. 8 has been approved to represent the NC in the upcoming elections, as confirmed by the district vice-chair of the party, Basant Rokaya.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the Nepali Congress is the first major party to finalize its candidate for this crucial position. Meanwhile, the CPN (UML) and CPN (Maoist Center) are still in the process of selecting their candidates. The UML is actively conducting a door-to-door campaign across all eight wards of the Rural Municipality, as stated by UML district secretary Tirtharaj Bohara.
Similarly, Dharmaraj Bohra, the district secretary of the CPN (Maoist Center), mentioned that their party is also concentrating on Sarkegad for candidate selection. The position of Vice Chair became vacant following the tragic death of Chandrasingh Karki in a road accident wh
ile traveling from Surkhet to Nepalgunj. Karki had previously been elected to the post through an electoral alliance between the NC and the CPN (Maoist Centre) during the last local level elections.
