Lisbon: The Embassy of Nepal in Portugal is set to conduct a two-day mobile camp on Madeira Island for Nepali migrants requiring passport renewal and document verification.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the embassy’s consular services will be available on December 6 and 7. The services provided will include passport renewal, issuance of police reports, handling of family documents, and verification of various other documents.
Nepal’s Ambassador to Portugal, Prakash Mani Paudel, stated that the camp would collect biometric details from service seekers to facilitate the issuance of new passports. Ambassador Paudel explained that the decision to deploy a team to Madeira Island was made to better serve the Nepali community living far from the embassy’s main location.
“We are planning to run the camp by utilizing the holidays for the convenience of Nepalis living in the region (Madeira Island),” Ambassador Paudel added. He expressed hope that a significant number of Nepalis residing on Madeira Island would benefit from the initiative.
Last month, the Embassy of Nepal in Portugal successfully conducted a similar mobile camp in Faro city.
