Kathmandu: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari has expressed that the garment industries in Nepal have generated employment for thousands of individuals. Inaugurating the 30th Annual General Assembly of the Nepal Garment Association, Minister Bhandari emphasized the significant role garment industries have played in boosting the nation’s economic development through job creation and foreign currency earnings.
According to National News Agency Nepal, Minister Bhandari highlighted the importance of domestic production, local skills development, and employment generation for the overall development of the nation. He assured that the government is committed to introducing policies and programs that will promote the quality of products, establish brands, and enhance the export of Nepali goods.
Additionally, Nepali Congress leader Ramhari Khatiwada and Rastriya Swatantra Party leader Ganesh Parajuli remarked that strengthening the national economy requires the promotion of domestic products while reducing reliance on foreign goods. They urged the government to involve stakeholders in the efforts to achieve this economic transformation.
