Kathmandu: The Nepali national team has departed for India to participate in the inaugural Blind Women’s T-20 World Cup. The tournament is a collaborative effort between India and Sri Lanka, showcasing the talents of visually impaired female cricketers.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the team was given a farewell by Bagmati Province Disabled Federation President Upendra Shrestha and National Disabled Federation Central General Secretary Sugam Bhattarai. The competition is set to commence on Tuesday, with Nepal scheduled to face Sri Lanka in their opening match on Wednesday.
The Blind Women’s T-20 World Cup will feature teams from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Australia, the US, and England, alongside Nepal. This event marks a significant milestone in promoting sports for differently-abled women on an international platform.
