NHRC Presents Annual Human Rights Report to President Paudel.


Kathmandu: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has submitted its annual report for the financial year 2080/081 to President Ramchandra Paudel. The NHRC Chair, Tapa Bahadur Magar, formally presented the report during a program held at Rastrapati Bhawan Shital Niwas earlier today.

According to National News Agency Nepal, President Paudel emphasized the importance of respecting, protecting, and promoting human rights as essential components for strengthening the lawful state and multi-party democratic governance system. He remarked, “If human rights can be respected, protected, and promoted then no citizen would be deprived of human rights.”

The President also highlighted the necessity of fostering a human rights culture by implementing fundamental democratic values and beliefs, including democratic governance, civil liberties, fundamental rights, adult suffrage, and freedom of the press. President Paudel expressed his belief that a human rights-friendly society could be established through the active
efforts of the commission alongside government and non-government organizations.
