Kathmandu: The China Cultural Centre (CCC) in Kathmandu hosted a significant event aimed at promoting tourism collaboration between Nepal and China on Wednesday. The event, named ‘Nihao China’, attracted a diverse group of participants including members of the business community, tourism professionals, and representatives from various airlines.
According to National News Agency Nepal, the ‘Nihao China’ program was a collaborative effort organized by the CCC, Kathmandu Office, in association with China’s national flag carrier Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu. CCC Director Xiao Jiang emphasized the importance of the event in enhancing the understanding of Chinese tourism resources and policies among Nepali tourism professionals.
The event served as a platform to establish connections, exchange information, and explore future collaboration opportunities between the tourism sectors of China and Nepal. Over one hundred Nepali travel an
d ticketing agents participated, alongside representatives from notable Chinese tourist companies such as Guangxi Guangda Tourism Investment Company, Tibet Yeti International Travel Service, and Sichuan Mingyan Travel Agency.
Director Xiao highlighted the mutual benefits of the bilateral partnership in the tourism sector, given the unique cultural and tourism resources in both countries. She also pointed to the Nepal Visit Year 2025, noting its significance as it coincides with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal.
Mohan Suwal from the China National Tourist Office shared insights into various aspects of Chinese tourism, including its tourism products, cuisine, and cultural and historical heritage, further underscoring the richness and diversity of tourism offerings China has to offer.
